Paramedic (Urgent Care Tech) - Urgent Care

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs
Assist with patient exams, ensuring all necessary equipment and documentation are prepared, while supporting providers during testing and procedures
Perform diagnostic and testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, and more
Execute point-of-care testing such as strep, flu, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, glucose, lipid panel, and urinalysis
Provide cardiac and airway management, including ECGs, AED use, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen administration
Deliver wound care assessments, immunizations, and medication administration per federal and state regulations
Assist with patient inquiries, communicate test results, and explain medication or therapy plans
Maintain accurate electronic medical records, documenting patient histories and treatment details
Observe and report changes in patients' conditions, taking necessary action as needed
Ensure medical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and maintained per organizational policies
Maintain a stocked and sterile workspace, supporting smooth clinic operations
Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care
Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates
Welcome and support the training of new team clinic team members

Required

High school diploma or GED required
Licensed paramedic (preferably nationally certified) with prior experience placing and monitoring IVs
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. We do not accept CPR, ACLS certifications, or online only classes

Excellent team player: Enjoys collaborating with others and being a part of a strong team dynamic
Technically savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, experience with or ability to learn Experity as well as other business systems
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive and or non-consecutive days
For full-time: Must be able to work three (3) 12-hour shifts a week with at least four (4) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday
For part-time: Must be able to work two (2) 12-hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday
For per diem: Must be able to work four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, ideally working one (1) shift each week
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays
If needed, must be able to work at a minimum of three (3) other ConvenientMD locations within a one (1) hour travel distance from your primary clinic
Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one (1) hour commute

Preferred

1-2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred
