The Intern role provides administrative and project support within the Facilities Engineering department, allowing interns to shadow skilled trades and learn about maintaining hospital facilities.

Responsibilities
Provides administrative and project support within assigned department
Gains valuable, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment
Spends the majority of their time shadowing the applicable staff in their area of focus (Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
Given time to shadow outside their area of focus to get a full picture of the types of jobs that are necessary to keep a hospital running
Given training on healthcare specific requirements such as infection prevention, life safety, and emergency power systems
Qualification
Required
Student who is currently enrolled in a two-year Associate's Degree program, Bachelor's Degree program, or graduate-level program preferred
Preferred
Preference will be given to trade school students specializing in plumbing, electrical, HVAC or other related areas
