Research Specialist
The University of Nebraska at Omaha is a growing research institution seeking a Research Specialist for its National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education (NCITE) consortium. The role involves supporting the principal investigator on federally funded research projects, applying domain knowledge in counter-terrorism, managing project deliverables, and collaborating on supplementary research projects.

Responsibilities
Supporting the principal investigator on a federally funded research project
Apply domain knowledge – particularly advancing counter-terrorism and targeted violence, bolstering suspicious activity reporting, and improving prevention efforts
Work with NCITE faculty and students to take a lead role in supporting and executing tasks including management of project deliverables
Be productive in writing manuscripts and reports
Presenting research outcomes
Apply domain knowledge in a collaborative support to supplementary research projects providing scientific reviews of non-assigned project outcomes and requests for information
Qualification
Required
Master's degree Will consider an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
3 years of experience designing and executing quantitative and qualitative research plans
Domain knowledge related to security related field(s)
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work and the work of others
Preferred
ABD or have a doctorate degree in political science, criminology, management, I/O psychology, or other security related field(s)
Showing strong oral presentation and facilitation skills to conduct regular meetings, interviews and workshops with senior federal leaders
Supervised undergraduate and graduate research assistants
