Responsibilities
Performing comprehensive Polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general oversight of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or the medical director (M.D., D.O., or PhD) or designee
Provide oversight of a Polysomnographic Trainee
Functioning independently with limited supervision
Require extensive knowledge and the application of advanced expertise in the field of sleep disorders, and sound clinical judgments, actions, and decision making regarding unusual patient behavior, i.e. seizure activity, life threatening cardiac and respiratory abnormalities
Have internal contacts basically within the work group but may include patient care staff and management throughout the Medical Center
Have external contacts with physicians as well as extensive direct patient care and patient contact on a daily basis
Qualification
Required
Current BLS Certification
Boarded by the Borad of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
Preferred
One (1) year polysomnographic technology experience preferred
