Civil Section Supervisor
The California Department of Justice's Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse is seeking a Civil Section Supervisor. This role involves leading a team in the investigation and litigation of fraud cases related to California’s Medicaid program, while also engaging with various stakeholders and conducting assessments of legislative proposals.

Responsibilities
Carry their own adjusted case load while leading, organizing, and directing a team of attorneys, paralegals, and others in the investigation, litigation and resolution of fraud cases
Engage in casework involving work before state and federal courts
Interact with DMFEA’s auditing staff and engage with public stakeholders and with DMFEA’s state and federal agency partners
Conduct periodic assessments of legislative amendments and other policy proposals in DMFEA’s purview
Conduct quarterly case reviews
Handle general administrative tasks
Participate in the selection process for staff
Organize and provide ongoing training for legal and investigative staff
Evaluate and respond as appropriate to the performance of supervised staff, including Deputy Attorneys General, Legal Analysts and Legal Secretaries
Work closely with counterparts in other states and federal attorneys in USDOJ and various USAOs
Qualification
Required
Experience in investigating, litigating, and resolving allegations of unlawful conduct related to Medicaid fraud
Ability to lead, organize, and direct a team of attorneys, paralegals, and other staff
Experience with casework involving state and federal courts
Ability to interact with auditing staff and engage with public stakeholders
Experience in conducting assessments of legislative amendments and policy proposals
Ability to conduct quarterly case reviews
Experience in handling general administrative tasks
Ability to participate in the selection process for staff
Experience in organizing and providing ongoing training for legal and investigative staff
Ability to evaluate and respond to the performance of supervised staff, including Deputy Attorneys General, Legal Analysts, and Legal Secretaries
Experience working with counterparts in other states and federal attorneys
Ability to work under the auspices of the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units (NAMFCU)
