Retail Business Bank Support Specialist

Columbia Bank is seeking a Retail Business Bank Support Specialist to work closely with Retail Business Bankers to achieve team goals. The role focuses on providing operational support, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

Operational soundness by assisting with management of loan and deposit portfolios
Support in activities conducive to generating revenue for the team and the bank
Regularly participates in client and prospect research to help Retail Business Bankers Find, Grow and Keep new and existing client relationships
Maintains direct contact with external and internal clients and consistently provides proactive solutions and problem resolutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards
Utilizes extensive knowledge of loan origination system, core, pricing tools, and other required systems to support the production team
Accurately completes bank forms in a timely manner and demonstrates working knowledge of internal processes
Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge of products and services as well as knowledge of competitors and competitive products
Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes
Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training
Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation P, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description
May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert
Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words
Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Proficient with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel
Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships
Advanced knowledge of cash management solutions and deposit solutions, including product, policies, procedures, practices and documentation
Ability to train and present to small and large audiences
Strong knowledge of business banking processes, procedures, best practices and documentation
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize time

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 3 years of banking experience or equivalent
