Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the firm, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger
Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial reports are prepared accurately and in a timely manner
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and present the reports to senior management and partners
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support the strategic goals of the firm
Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices
Collaborate with attorneys and staff to analyze financial data and make recommendations for improving the financial performance of the firm
Manage the annual audit process, working closely with auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they meet their goals and objectives

Required

CPA required!
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Five or more years of experience in accounting, with at least two years of supervisory experience
Experience in the legal industry or a professional services firm is required
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with large amounts of data
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with attorneys, staff, and external stakeholders
Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and legal specific accounting software
Knowledge of US GAAP, tax laws, and regulations

Preferred

Law firm industry experience is highly preferred - professional services industries will also be considered
