Responsibilities

Install, debug, and harden hardware and firmware in environments that do not care about best practices

Tear through boot issues with JTAG or OpenOCD and fix problems before vendors finish typing their reply

Tune RF where it actually fails, inside warehouses full of steel, forklifts, and interference

Build OTA pipelines and provisioning flows that stay secure after deployment, not just on paper

Wire telemetry into AWS IoT or Azure IoT and validate streams into Kafka so dashboards stop lying

Turn field failures into automated tests that kill regressions permanently

Build Grafana dashboards and Prometheus alerts that stop oncall noise instead of documenting it

Train operators, lead workshops, and leave behind runbooks that scale knowledge without babysitting

Own the field toolchain, spectrum analyzers, protocol sniffers, serial consoles, and everything no one else wants to touch

Travel often, because installs are where truth lives

Five+ years shipping embedded hardware into real production SaaS environments. Not labs. Not demos. Real fleets

Deep fluency in C and C++ firmware workflows and the confidence to unbrick devices under pressure

RF instincts across WiFi, BLE, sub gig, and LTE or NB IoT that hold up when theory collapses

Edge Linux and OTA experience that survives long after go live

Automation discipline in Python or bash that turns late night fixes into permanent guardrails

Hands on experience with MQTT, REST, AWS IoT or Azure IoT, and streaming pipelines that convert data into action

Observability skills that reduce incidents instead of explaining them

Comfort owning ugly problems and making them repeatable

Clear technical communication that earns trust without hand holding

Willingness to travel because credibility is built on site, not in meetings
