Responsibilities

Analyzes corporate transportation and distribution methods and procedures to develop and utilize the most economically advantageous and efficient means of receiving product

Procures and oversees external truck fleet/transportation services

Manages offsite warehouse storage / Milk runs

Manages and sources ocean transportation for Mirrors NA to optimize costs, inventory, and container utilization

Ensures compliance with US and international regulations

Creates and monitors an “Ocean burn-out” data base to ensure on-time ocean deliveries / containers / rail / truck

Evaluates all the Mirrors NA milk run truck shipments on monthly basis and makes adjustments as needed to frequency and timing of pickups

Leads the cost reduction efforts for inbound freight and closely works with materials and purchasing teams at each division to implement savings projects

Conducts analysis on total warehouse cost both internal and external and recommends improvements to divisions

Monitors supply base for On-time delivery and creates tracking reports to share with cross-function teams

Drives supply base to on-time delivery by using a scoring system

Monitors and tracks purchased component stock-outs to drive elimination

Continually creates / implements cost savings solutions around full Supply Chain Value Stream

Required

Minimum of Associates Degree strongly recommended

Always conducts business activities in a professional manner with neutrality and fairness

Strong Excel / Computer skills required. Database creation and monitoring required

Minimum five years professional level experience in the areas of Supply Chain / Logistics

Demonstrated broad understanding of transportation principles, practices, and procedures. Possesses specific knowledge in areas of transportation, warehousing, and container utilization

Demonstrated ability to research, recommend, and implement changes/improvements. Demonstrated ability to design and implement internal and external transportation strategies

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts when performing job duties
