Responsibilities
Lead the development of a world-class Search system that organizes provider data in order to deliver relevant and impactful recommendations to our members
Own and drive the execution of relevant quarterly deliverables and long-term strategy
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align strategies and achieve company objectives
Provide leadership and guidance to your teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability
Ensure your team proactively incorporates relevant new technologies, system designs, and strategies, especially in the domains of big data, ML, and AI
Influence relevant partner teams in order to accelerate delivery across the organization
Champion and ensure the privacy and security of our users' data
Mentor, grow, and recruit Garner's next generation of engineering leaders
Qualification
Required
6+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years managing software or data engineering teams
1+ year managing engineering managers
Experience building ML-powered systems and leveraging MLOps best practices
Strong background in distributed systems, large-scale data processing (e.g., Airflow, Spark, Flink), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
Ability to translate complex business needs into a clear, executable technical roadmap
A willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment
A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system
Preferred
Experience with personalization, recommendation, or search systems preferred
Experience working with regulated data; healthcare data standards (HIPAA, EDI) a plus
