Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions
All aspects of electrical civil design including permitting support, site design, foundation design, structure design, and control building design
The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience
Preparation of drawing packages to satisfy client and code requirements
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering) degree from an accredited college
0-1 years of experience
Ability to independently create calculation packages
Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, or the ability to complete the FE exam within one year
A strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

Preferred

Three (3) or more years of civil design experience
Experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV)
Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, RISA, MatchCAD, LPile, and Civil 3D are beneficial
Geotechnical background
Professional Engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states
Ability to successfully participate in multiple projects concurrently and manage budgets and schedules
