Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including preparing and reviewing financial statements
Manage accounting systems and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards
Manage multiple accounting functions and operations: general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, asset, job costing, auditing and tax accounting
Implement accounting policies and procedures
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting
Evaluate accounting processes and systems and implement optimizations
Develop and direct accounting professionals and support staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports
Strong analytical skills and experience in financial data interpretation
Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in financial systems
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
True first level manager providing support and guidance to subordinate staff
Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
Requires 5 years experience in the construction accounting
Requires 3 years supervisory experience
Requires extensive knowledge of the accounting function and department processes
