Assistant Professor of Digital Media and Broadcast Communications, beginning Fall 2026 (Tenure-Stream)
The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Professor of Digital Media and Broadcast Communications to begin in Fall 2025. This tenure-stream position involves teaching undergraduate courses in digital media, advising students, and contributing to the program's development with a focus on hands-on learning experiences.

Responsibilities
Applicants must be able to teach 12 credits per semester at the undergraduate level
Position teaches courses such as Digital Video 1 and 2, Digital Filmmaking, Radio Production, and Mass Media in Society, among others
Candidate will have an opportunity to integrate new media studies and wider digital cultures as we revise and update our Broadcast Comm program
Our Broadcast Comm program has a strong tradition of hands-on, experiential learning, and the candidate will be the technical point-person for our students as they gain experience in our television, radio, and digital editing spaces — strong technical skills will be a necessity
Qualification
Required
MA or Ph.D. in Communications or a closely related field with an emphasis in media production
A strong commitment to teaching undergraduates
Scholarship, advising, and service activities are required
Experience teaching at the university or collegiate level is required
Strong technical skills will be a necessity
Preferred
Work experience in the field is preferred
Preference will be given to applicants with relevant work experience
