Start in 2026 SummerMedpace is a full-service clinical contract research organization that provides Phase I-IV clinical development services to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries. They are currently seeking an office-based Systems Engineer Intern to join their Information Technology team, where the intern will assist with various technologies related to systems and data center management.

Responsibilities
On-premise servers running Microsoft technologies such as: SharePoint, Skype for Business, Exchange, IIS Web Servers, SQL Server, Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, GP, etc.), System Center
Azure Infrastructure and Applications, including Office 365 technologies (such as Exchange, SharePoint, etc.)
VMWare infrastructure in both Cincinnati as well as in our International datacenters
Storage network both onsite and globally using EMC and Pure
Backup operations using CommVault and Symantec BackupExec
SDWAN with Silver Peak
Traditional Windows Server administration; and
Dell Server hardware
Qualification
Required
Working towards Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
Strong desire to learn and grow, with a solid foundation of technical background and experience
Ability to be self directed with assigned tasks and ability to research solutions and come forward with recommendations for new and creative ideas to solve problems
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, end users, and management
Preferred
Familiarity and exposure to windows server and virtualization technologies
Understanding the systems side of data center management
Shell scripting and demonstrated ability to automate tasks and processes
