Specialty1 Partners is seeking a talented Surgical Dental Assistant w/ IV experience to join their busy specialty practice. The role involves ensuring excellent patient service, assisting the dentist with various tasks, and providing a world-class specialty experience for patients.

Responsibilities

You will ensure excellent patient service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the Dentist’s shoulders
You will be focused on ensuring that the patients' needs, concerns, and questions are answered
You will help keep the patient relaxed and comfortable during their visit, being the patients go to resource during their visit which includes the following:
Post-operative patient assessment
Administer oral premedication
Set up and start IV's
Administer medication under doctors supervision
Inventory and track drugs kept in office
Screen phone calls from patients and doctor's offices & review with doctors
Support doctors on a limited basis in surgery as needed
Prepare prescriptions for doctors to sign and e-prescribe
Initiate and follow up on medical consults to patient's physicians as directed by our doctors
Mail pre-surgery information to patients
Post-surgical patient checks including suture removal when needed. Coordinate future appointments
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed

Qualification

IV CertificationSurgical Assistant ExperienceDental InstrumentsCPR CertificationBLS CertificationAED CertificationHealth & Safety RegulationsComputer SkillsHigh School DiplomaSurgical Assistant Program CertificateActive State Radiology LicenseCommunication SkillsAttention to DetailOrganizational Skills

Required

At least 1-2 years of experience as surgical assistant, specialty is preferred
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
IV Certification
CPR Certification
BLS Certification
AED Certification
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
A strong attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
A high school diploma
A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law)
An active state radiology license (if required by law)

Preferred

OMFS experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual
