Responsibilities

Administer a diverse, nationwide portfolio of complex specialty assets held in fiduciary accounts, including commercial and residential real estate, mineral interests, tangible assets, and mortgage-related assets
Ensure full compliance with Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) regulations and BNY policy guidelines, applying disciplined, asset-specific strategies grounded in specialty asset management policies and procedures. Proactively identify and mitigate risks; ensure operational controls and procedures are consistently applied
Collaborate with clients, trust counsel, third-party affiliates, and internal partners, Wealth Managers, Investment Managers, Legal, and Risk & Compliance, to deliver coordinated, high-quality outcomes
Meet with high-net-worth clients to understand their asset strategies and real estate investment objectives, risk tolerance, and long-term goals. Discuss current market conditions; implement investment strategies for complex assets aligned with client goals, risk tolerance, policies, and applicable regulations
Contribute to firm profitability through retention and expansion of existing client relationships
Portfolio Administration: Lead end-to-end management of specialty assets, including due diligence including annual inspections, Regulation 9 and capital improvement project oversight, valuation monitoring, performance management, documentation, and execution of asset strategies
Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Present clear, actionable recommendations; translate complex asset considerations into client-friendly insights; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and advance objectives
Investment Strategy Execution: Implement strategies consistent with investment policies and philosophies; monitor market trends and asset-level dynamics; adjust tactics to support client objectives within regulatory frameworks
Growth & Retention: Strengthen relationships, increase share of wallet, and support new business development by delivering trusted advice and responsive service

Required

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
3-5 years prior financial/investment experience
Strong analytical and research skills related to portfolio management
Experience working with domestic and international investment portfolios
No direct people leadership responsibilities
Experience managing specialty assets within fiduciary, trust, or wealth management environments; knowledge of real estate, mineral interests, tangible assets, and mortgage-related assets
Strong understanding of OCC regulations, fiduciary standards, and internal policy frameworks
Excellent analytical, research, communication, and organizational skills; ability to manage complex, multi-party engagements
