Design Release Engineer - Refrigerant Loop

Responsibilities

Development and validation of the automotive HVAC compressor and A/C lines
Ensure the components meet performance objectives and coordinate development with other functional areas such as powertrain, BIW, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling and suppliers
Writing source packages, specifications, requirements, change notices and overall supplier management to meet program timing and deliverables
Maintain a component and sub-system DVP&R
Support and keep up to date with component bench testing, simulation, drive-cell and static cell test results as well as perform data analysis and establish proper corrective actions as required
Lead virtual team to design and perform CFD and FEA analysis for components to meet performance
Support pilot and pre-production build process at the assembly plant for development and installation of AC line and compressors

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC compressors and/or A/C line design/development
Very good knowledge about Unigraphics NX and CATIA
Strong PC + MS Office skills required. Excellent written, verbal and listening skills and interpersonal skills
Self-starter and motivated to produce results
Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
Basic thermodynamics knowledge

Preferred

Experience in e-compressors, chillers, EV components
Other related design experience (Engine cooling, Aero-Thermal)
Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
Basic knowledge in Thermodynamics
Automotive assembly plant experience
HVAC system engineering knowledge
Previous experience as an AC line design and release engineer
