Mechanical Engineering Graduate Assistant--Additive Manufacturing of Smart Structures with Embedded Sensors and Actuators
Gannon University is inviting applications for a Graduate Assistant position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the academic year 2025-26. The selected candidate will contribute to a research project focused on additive manufacturing, integrating sensors and actuators into structural components while also supporting research dissemination efforts.

Responsibilities
Take guidance from faculty mentor; attend meetings; work independently to achieve goals; other duties as assigned by faculty mentor within the scope, responsibility, and requirements of the position
Collaborate with other students on research projects; Prepare/give presentations in written and/or oral format
Show proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Prepare draft manuscripts; and
Perform other duties as assigned by faculty mentor within the scope, responsibility, and requirements of the position
Qualification
Required
Requires full-time enrollment in one of the following programs: MSE - MECH, MSEM - ENGM, MSME, MSENG -M
An undergraduate degree in appropriate science or engineering discipline
Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission
Preferred
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Experience with MATLAB and/or Python
Hands-on experimentation
Data analysis and interpretation
Undergraduate degree in appropriate science or engineering discipline from accredited institution
