Responsibilities

Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve supply chain efficiency
Contribute across the full machine learning lifecycle, including research, feature engineering, model evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
Apply advanced statistical and time series methods to uncover patterns, explain drivers, and recommend actionable strategies
Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Analytics Engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, production-ready data products
Participate in data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and analysis to ensure end-to-end ownership of solutions
Translate complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical partners
Help elevate the broader Data Science practice by leading learning sessions, sharing best practices, and proposing new tools or architectures
Building and deploying time series forecasting models to predict demand across thousands of SKUs with seasonal and regional variability
Optimizing inventory placement and replenishment strategies to reduce stockouts and excess inventory
Developing model monitoring frameworks to detect drift and ensure long-term forecasting accuracy
Partnering with Finance to quantify cost savings and revenue impact from improved forecasting accuracy
Collaborating with Analytics Engineers to productionize models using cloud-based ML platforms

Required

2+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role focused on supply chain forecasting, demand planning, or logistics optimization
Strong foundation in statistical methods and time series forecasting (e.g., SARIMA, Prophet, XGBoost)
Expert-level Python skills for data cleaning, analysis, and modeling
Expert-level SQL skills for data analysis and exploration
Experience training and evaluating machine learning models using libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, XGBoost, or tidymodels
Experience deploying machine learning models into production environments (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Databricks, Snowpark ML)
Familiarity with software development best practices, including git-based version control and testing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when working with non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to lead self-directed projects and collaborate cross-functionally

Preferred

Experience working with Snowflake
Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Background in education, edtech, or mission-driven organizations
