They are seeking an Accountant for their Capital, Risk and Insurance team to manage month-end close activities, reconciliations, and variance analysis while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities
Prepare and enter journal entries for assigned areas, including debt management and related transactions
Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis for assigned accounts and workstreams
Maintain and update schedules for Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, and Fixed/Intangible Assets, including recording depreciation and amortization
Assist with accounting for casualty events, including claims tracking and related journal entries
Support accounting for insurance policies, including renewals, amortization, and refunds
Assist with fixed asset accounting, capital allocations, and asset module maintenance
Work cross-functionally with other departments to share accounting data and improve process efficiencies
Prepare, review, and distribute financial reports, roll-forwards, and related financial analysis
Ensure adherence to GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
Qualification
Required
Experience conducting variance analysis
Experience conducting actual to budget/forecast analysis
Experience with monthly, quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
Experience recording monthly journal entries, accruals, reclasses, etc
Experience with debt reconciliation
1-2+ two years of relevant experience
Proficient financial system skills with an emphasis on Excel, SmartView
Superb attention to detail
Nimble problem solver who enjoys complex challenges
Demonstrates quality customer service, teamwork, and cultural fit
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
Workday Financials experience a plus
