Responsibilities

Oversee technical and operational accounting for these workstreams, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Lead a team of accountants by providing guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for growth and development
Supervise assigned staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and decisions on promotions, terminations, or reassignments
Direct accounting and financial analysis activities across areas such as auditing, budgeting, cost accounting, general ledger, and program cost control and scheduling
Review and approve account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and GAAP
Drive initiatives to enhance processes and communicate policies and procedures across the team and other departments
Apply advanced accounting concepts, theories, and principles to develop solutions, ensuring adherence to FASB, GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Serve as a subject matter expert in the development and enhancement of accounting software and systems
Manage accounting for all insurance policies, including renewals, monthly amortization, refunds, and compliance with policy requirements
Oversee accounting for casualty events, including claims management through resolution
Maintain ownership of the asset module, oversee capital allocations, and manage fixed asset accounting
Act as the primary accounting contact for explaining current-period actual results to FP&A, Capital Finance, Operations Finance, and other teams
Perform SOX control procedures, including walkthroughs and providing information to internal and external auditors. Manage the overall SOX process and serve as a key lead for external audits

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5-7 years related experience
Experience supervising associate-level employees required
Knowledge and experience working with financial systems such as Workday and/or Blackline
Strong analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail
