Responsibilities

Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, staging, and shipping inventory
Provide direct supervision to warehouse employees and onsite contractors, including daily task assignment and work direction
Train and onboard new employees on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation
Conduct regular inventory reviews to ensure assets are organized, accurately tracked, and free of defects or damage across all storage areas
Partner with the Terminal Manager to identify and address operational issues, delays, and service concerns
Enforce company, customer, and OSHA safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Assist management in creating, updating, and following SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, inventory scanners, and other warehouse technology as needed
Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards
Reconcile route sheets to ensure accuracy against paperwork, investigate discrepancies, and address service-related issues
Ensure contractors understand and comply with all customer requirements, including proper attire, ID badges, scanning compliance, and device functionality
Notify management promptly of verbal or written inquiries related to in-house issues, missing freight, or service concerns to ensure corrective action is taken
Comply with company and OSHA safety standards, including use of appropriate protective equipment, maintaining clutter-free workspaces, ensuring equipment safety, and following accident prevention best practices

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of one to two years of relevant warehouse, logistics, or operations experience, with demonstrated progression into a lead or supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong standard math calculation skills required, with the ability to accurately interpret data, verify counts, and support inventory and operational reporting
Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust, credibility, and professionalism with team members, contractors, and management
Highly proactive and resourceful, with the ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven warehouse environment
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly direct, coach, and address performance with employees and contractors
Ability to apply sound judgment and common-sense reasoning to interpret and carry out written, oral, and diagrammatic instructions, and to resolve operational issues involving multiple variables within established procedures
Demonstrated understanding of the independent contractor relationship and the ability to ensure compliance with related operational requirements
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to review data, identify trends, and support operational decision-making
Ability to learn, utilize, and oversee compliance with customer-specific programs and systems for scanning, tracking, and performance reporting
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and workflow demands simultaneously
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, capable of identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
Ability to shift between projects and operational priorities while maintaining composure, focus, and team productivity
Proficient in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to utilize systems for reporting and communication
Forklift certified, or ability to obtain certification, with responsibility for administering forklift training, verifying certification, and ensuring safe equipment operation standards are followed by direct reports
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and maintain focus to complete the full workday effectively
Must be able to endure warehouse environmental conditions, including temperature extremes (cold in winter, heat in summer)
Must be able to lift or exert force up to 75 pounds consistently throughout the workday
