Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated Director, Energy Policy to join our Global Government Affairs team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a government affairs strategy to advance policy positions that impact power adequacy, grid resilience, and AI infrastructure growth.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive government affairs and energy policy strategy to advance Iron Mountain’s business objectives, with a focus on power adequacy, grid resilience, and policies affecting current and future data center operations
Monitor and analyze emerging federal, state, and local energy policy and regulatory developments; develop policy positions, analyses, and advocacy strategies to mitigate risk and capture opportunity
Represent Iron Mountain before elected officials, regulatory agencies, and political appointees, advocating the company’s positions on energy, utility, and infrastructure-related issues
Collaborate closely with internal executives and subject matter experts to align business priorities with energy and public policy strategies and ensure consistent messaging
Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, regulators, trade associations, and public policy coalitions; serve as the primary liaison for energy-related industry engagement
Draft briefing materials, position papers, and advocacy communications to clearly articulate Iron Mountain’s policy priorities and support engagement with key stakeholders

Required

10+ years of experience in government relations or service within state/federal legislative and regulatory bodies, specifically focused on energy and power policy
Strong knowledge of the energy industry, including renewable energy development, energy procurement, and Regional Transmission Organization/Independent System Operator (RTO/ISO) market policies
Proven ability in external advocacy and communication, with the expertise to translate complex regulatory issues into actionable business strategies and persuasive briefing materials
Bachelor's degree required

Preferred

Juris Doctor (JD) or Master's degree
