Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor EH&S policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, EMS, HSMS and other regulatory standards
Conduct hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety inspections for facilities and processes
Maintain safety equipment inventory and perform periodic safety inspections
Monitor hazardous waste removal vendors and assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical)
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; recommend corrective actions
Provide EH&S training and awareness programs for employees
Maintain accurate records and prepare regulatory reports
Collaborate with regulatory agencies and recommend corrective actions where hazards exist
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and environmental impact
Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Provide technical support and assist in resolution of manufacturing problems
Confer with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure proficient production methods
Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems and maintain equipment operational readiness
Lead identification, purchase, and implementation of new equipment for the manufacturing floor
Collaborate with vendors to resolve equipment, materials, and quality issues
Drive cost reduction activities and process improvements to achieve company goals
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and travel as required to customer sites for technical support and training

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
5–7 years in combined manufacturing engineering and EH&S roles
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards
Proficiency in risk assessment, hazard analysis, incident investigation, and root cause analysis
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Project management and continuous improvement experience
