Research Project Manager III - PMB
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Responsibilities
Manage operational elements of one or more individual projects. Document project scope and plan, confirming objectives, technologies, schedules, milestones and deadlines, funding, and available resources with internal and external stakeholders. Produce and distribute project status reports and documents
Communicate and collaborate with others, including but not limited to principal investigators, project sponsors, research collaborators, Department of War/Military Health System stakeholders, organizational leadership, and project management teams project requirements and objectives. Document and evaluate existing processes, procedures and guidelines making recommendations for enhancements and improvements as appropriate. Contribute to the development of timely reports, briefs and other dissemination materials to project stakeholders. Lead stakeholder communications, meeting facilitation, and working groups across Defense Health Agency (DHA), military treatment facilities (MTFs), and research partners. Obtain approval for out-of-scope modifications
Support the design of military health provider interventions and execution of mixed-method evaluations (quantitative, qualitative, and cost-effectiveness)
Monitor project costs incurred. Prepare and maintain project budget and related reports
Facilitate collaborative solution design sessions using human-centered design and implementation science frameworks. Collaborate with principal investigators to align project deliverables with strategic research goals
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in behavioral/public health, epidemiology, or related field
Minimum of 6-8 years experience required
Experience coordinating public health or non-clinical research studies, preferably social or behavioral studies
Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team
Strong writing skills for technical, regulatory, and academic audiences
Familiarity with federal grant management, budget processes and reporting requirements
Proficiency with one or more project management tools required. Some examples of project management tools include AirTable, Monday, MS Project, Smartsheet, or PowerBI
Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software
Experience managing research investigators, vendors and/or subcontractors, including handling data use agreements, scopes of work, research protocols, contracts, and budgetary oversight
Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines
Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent required
Preferred
Master's Degree preferred
Familiarity with Department of War grant management and reporting requirements preferred
