Electrical Engineer III
Merrick & Company is a nationally recognized multi-office firm specializing in design excellence for over 60 years. They are seeking an experienced Laboratory / Facility Design Electrical Engineer to oversee all phases of engineering production and BIM for complex projects in their Life Sciences business unit.

Responsibilities
Design of electrical systems for facilities / laboratories for Government, University, and private clients
Provide conceptual / detailed design and analysis for facility power distribution (600V), emergency power generation, grounding and lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications (voice/data), fire alarm / mass notification, security, access control, and special systems
Provide supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications
This individual is expected to possess knowledge on electrical regulatory codes
Meet with clients to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of work
Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail
Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined
Ability to travel as needed
Ability to write and edit specifications
Work in a design team environment
Capable of performing all of the above with minimal direction
An agreed upon hybrid schedule, working from both home and office, is available to employees in good standing
Qualification
Required
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in facility Electrical Engineering design
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-Accredited program
Familiar with REVIT/AutoCAD or other design software-based drawing generation
Experience using electrical calculation tools is desired, including lighting and power software such as AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and EasyPower
Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word
Experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, and IEEE
The client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship
Preferred
Experience with USDA, ARS, CDC and other laboratory clients
RCDD certification
