Responsibilities

Define Strategic Vision: Formulate the overarching strategy for business development, aligning team goals with broader organizational objectives
Executive Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing leadership team of directors and managers to achieve and exceed sales targets
Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with senior leadership in the markets, marketing, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless alignment and execution of business strategies
Empower Leadership: Create a scalable and repeatable performance model by empowering your leadership team and providing the necessary training and resources
Manage Budget and Resources: Prioritize conflicting demands and allocate departmental budgets and resources effectively to maximize impact
Leverage Sales Technology: Drive the strategic use of the entire sales technology stack, including AI capabilities, to enhance efficiency and reporting for the broader organization
Executive Communication: Communicate with calm confidence and represent the company with an air of professionalism when interacting with stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's Degree required
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, with a proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets
5+ years of experience in a senior management role, overseeing multi-level sales teams, including directors and managers
Exceptional executive leadership and influence skills, with the ability to set and communicate strategic direction to diverse teams
Proven ability to build and scale a world-class business development organization
Strong financial acumen and ability to manage departmental budgets and strategic investments
Deep expertise in the sales technology stack, including SFDC, Chorus, Groove, and AI capabilities, with a focus on data-driven strategy
Outstanding written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
A decisive, objective, and intentional decision-making mindset
A strong sense of accountability, both personally and for the entire function

Preferred

advanced degree
Extensive experience within the media sales industry
Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return
In-Depth knowledge of the media industry and related sales processes
Ability to apply expertise in a complex sales environment to service large accounts and/or complicated business segments
Confidence to prospect and quickly build rapport with customers, adapting messaging and style based on customer needs
Ease working with senior level executives and using influencing skills to negotiations and drive sales
Desire to stay abreast of emerging market trends and customer needs to expand relationships and trust
Confidence to solve complex problems using analysis, judgement and multiple sources of information
Accountability for your own work and a desire to provide guidance to new team members
Business development experience with new and existing customers
