Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Renewable Energy practice in Towson, MD. The role involves leading the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation projects and managing project specifications and client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, building electrical, and battery storage projects
Responsible for the review and development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams
Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices
Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country
Operating with integrity and sound business principles
Providing vision, business planning and strategy
Establishing goals
Building and maintaining positive client relationships
Having open communication with your partners and team
Growing and leading a Renewable Energy practice
Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
Lead, direct, and grow their business

Qualification

Required

8+ years of relevant experience managing renewable energy or related projects
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Familiar with the relevant standards, regulations, and best practices for wind energy projects
Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners
Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, and/or GIS
Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably
