CBORD Access Systems Specialist

Virginia's Community College System is seeking an experienced CBORD Access Systems Specialist to provide expert technical support for the college’s access control infrastructure. The specialist will ensure the proper configuration and functioning of electronic door systems and develop a long-term plan to maintain and improve access control reliability and security across TCC Campuses.

Responsibilities

Assess the current configuration and performance of the college’s CBORD access control system
Verify that all doors and related components are properly integrated, configured, identified, labeled, and operational
Troubleshoot and resolve system and hardware issues affecting door access and security functions
Coordinate with Facilities, IT, Installation Contractors and Campus Security teams to ensure alignment on system operations and maintenance
Develop documentation and provide recommendations for improving system reliability and performance
Create a long-term maintenance and sustainability plan for access control operations at TCC
Provide limited on-site staff training or knowledge transfer as needed to support continuity
Audit patron group access and map out access control locations college wide
Transition from patron group access to 'Flag' access for specifics to make specific access needs

Required

Demonstrated experience with CBORD access control systems (or similar enterprise-level systems)
Strong knowledge of access control hardware (such as V series squadron devices, mercury devices, and HID readers), electronic door systems, and related security infrastructure
Familiarity with system networking, CS Gold Application configuration, and hardware integration principles
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Effective communication and documentation abilities
