Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of loan processors, including setting performance goals, conducting reviews, having regular check-ins and providing training

Assist as a liaison with loan processing and all other departments to collaborate and resolve escalations professionally. Address, investigate, and resolve loan processing issues and maintain high customer (internal and external) satisfaction

Monitor loan processing policies and develop, implement, update and monitor applicable procedures

Work closely with other department managers to ensure department meets and follows all proper policies and procedures

Develop expert level user and administrative skills of all software the loan processors use

Manage the loan processing workflow

Monitor loans in process to determine any deviation from standard processing time and take appropriate actions to ensure files are processed in a timely manner

Identify workflow inefficiencies and gaps, develop and implement new ideas and processes improvements for automating services and improving efficiencies in loan processing

Champion automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency

Monitor the progress of projects to ensure timelines are met

Ensure documentation completeness and data integrity

Ensure adherence to federal, state, and government guaranty guidelines

Assure appropriate compliance training within the loan processors

Help facilitate lending compliance exams, audits, and compliance related inquiries, including responding to findings/exceptions

Maintains relationship with third party vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades, maintenance and installations

Ensure accurate data capture and reporting within loan origination systems

Prepare statistical reports, dashboards and executive summaries with actionable insights related to loan processing

Be familiar with all functions performed in loan processing and be able to perform a back-up in the absence of loan processor staff
