They are seeking a Japanese–English bilingual HR & Payroll Generalist to support HR, payroll, and administrative functions, acting as a key point of contact for employees and management.

Responsibilities

Manage core HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee orientation, performance management, and employee records
Process and support payroll administration, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions
Administer employee benefits and insurance programs, and respond to employee inquiries
Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, incident reporting, and return-to-work processes
Support workplace safety management, including OSHA compliance, safety training, and documentation
Address employee relations matters, assist with conflict resolution, and promote a positive work environment
Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies
Maintain accurate data within HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems
Support business operations through HR reporting, documentation, and internal process improvements
Conduct interviews, support recruiting efforts using ATS platforms, and assist with employee evaluations
Communicate HR policies and procedures clearly in both Japanese and English

Required

Fluency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) is required
Experience with payroll processing, benefits administration, insurance, and workers' compensation
Working knowledge of U.S. employment and labor laws, OSHA standards, and safety compliance
Experience using HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems (specific platforms flexible)
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
Proactive, detail-oriented approach to HR operations and employee support
