PLANS EXAMINING ENGINEER IV
City and County of Honolulu is seeking Plans Examining Engineer IVs to join their Department of Planning and Permitting. The role involves independently reviewing and analyzing construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with engineering practices and building codes.

Responsibilities
Independently reviewing and analyzing plans and specification involving major buildings, structures, and alteration work for structural adequacy and compliance with accepted engineering practices, the Building Code, and other pertinent ordinances
Qualification
Required
Must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States
Three years of non-registered professional Civil or Structural Engineering experience
Current State of Hawaii registration as a professional engineer in Civil or Structural Engineering
Applicants with an out-of-state license in Civil or Structural Engineering must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment
Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3), as required
