Responsibilities
Materials testing on soils, asphalt, and concrete – FOR PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO
ICC qualified to provide materials testing on soils, asphalt, reinforced concrete, with additional qualifications such as structural steel, fabricated structural steel, fireproofing, architectural, and mechanical preferred - FOR LANL PROJECTS
Perform inspections to verify construction is completed in adherence with approved codes, laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards
Verify that construction complies with approved plans
Read, research, and objectively interpret code requirements
Maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive records related to inspection activities
Review complex engineering documents to ensure construction compliance
Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients through participation in project meetings and daily site interaction
Qualification
Required
ICC qualified to provide materials testing on soils, asphalt, reinforced concrete
Familiar with International Building Code and ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI standards for testing and inspections
Must be a motivated individual who can follow directions
Prepare daily reports for submission to the QC Manager
A valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle
Excellent written and verbal skills
ICC Special Inspection certifications
ACI Field Testing Tech I
Preferred
Experience with New Mexico adopted codes
Additional qualifications such as structural steel, fabricated structural steel, fireproofing, architectural, and mechanical preferred
TTCP and NICET are a plus
