Electrical & Controls Engineer II
WEBCO HR, Inc. is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer II for one of their clients located in Richmond, Indiana. This role will execute plant support, troubleshooting, and lead improvement projects while mentoring junior engineers and electricians to meet operational, environmental, and safety goals.
Responsibilities
Ability to perform power, electrical & control systems engineering for all aspects of projects
Prepares and reviews technical electrical specifications for equipment, processes and projects
Troubleshoot and correct operational issues
Participate in/lead root cause corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence of issues
Provide on-call support to plant operations for electrical and controls issues
Assist in review and implementation of Corporate Specifications and Standards
Track and prioritize issues in conjunction with other departments
Prepares and reviews technical electrical specifications for equipment and processes projects
Assist facility with manufacturing operations as well as execution of electrical safety initiatives
Maintain good communication with management and project customers regarding project status, problems, and changes
Coordinate, review, provide oversight, and manage external engineering resources and consultants as needed
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with a minimum of 3 years of experience in control systems engineering in a continuous and/or discrete manufacturing environment
Demonstrated electrical and control system engineering capabilities
Demonstrated ability to provide solutions to basic project and process engineering problems
Solid knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications (including programming) along with communications within enterprise and control networked systems
Knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems
Must be able to read/understand electrical schematics and engineering drawings
Demonstrated project management skills
Demonstrated knowledge in the application of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the workplace – arc flash energy and shock hazards
Ability to manage and support multiple (1-3) projects simultaneously
Demonstrated success managing projects $50k - $200k
Demonstrated capabilities in working collaboratively with internal and external engineering resources
Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated drive and initiative to complete assigned tasks and investigate and seek out improvement opportunities
Ability to design and execute projects within North America
Requires travel (10%)
Preferred
Demonstrated experience in the engineering and implementation of 480V (Switchgear, Power Distribution Panel, Motor Control Center) and 4160V Power Distribution Systems
Knowledge in Honeywell systems (DCS)
