Perioperative Services Support Tech (OR Assistant), Main OR (Nights)
CHOC Children's is dedicated to providing exceptional and innovative care for the pediatric population. The Perioperative Services Support Technician is responsible for maintaining the Operating Room, assisting RNs with patient care, and performing clerical duties to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities
Perform a variety of duties related to maintaining the Operating Room/Procedure Room including but not limited to: restocking of supply cabinets, cleaning equipment, and assisting on tasks outlined in Room turnover PIT Stop Model
Assist the RN in patient transfer, positioning, and prepping
Ensure proper set up of each operating room such as equipment and beds based on patient’s age and needs
Assist in the transportation of patients from one location to another as well as transporting specimens, stat labs, and retrieving blood products
Perform some clerical duties: answer calls, deliver messages, checks e-mails, and takes emergency on-call
Qualification
Required
Minimum one (1) year of previous experience working in a hospital setting
High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent
Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner
Ability to work collaboratively and in a positive manner with others
Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in response to unexpected changes in work load/staffing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills
Strong organization skills
Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail, vigilance, poise and composure in stressful situations
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred
One (1) year of previous experience working in a surgical environment
Experience in pediatric patient transportation and pediatric surgical environment
Post High School education in health care course(s)
Bilingual in English/ Spanish
