Staff Research Associate

They are seeking a highly motivated Staff Research Associate to work as part of a research team investigating new tuberculosis diagnostics and drug-resistance.

Responsibilities
Generating a Mycobacterium tuberculosis deletion mutant and its complements to investigate the impact of specific mutations of bedaquiline resistance
Developing methods for the efficient lysis, DNA extraction, and amplification of Mycobacteria to develop a novel, rapid drug susceptibility testing assays
Qualification
Required
BA/BS in a related science and one or more years of recent, directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; and/or equivalent experience/training
Experience working in a BSL-2
Experience with the basic techniques or methods required by the position or an equivalent combination
Experience with standard microbiology procedures such as media preparation, culturing, DNA extraction, etc
Basic molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning
Preferred
Experience working in a BSL-3
Master's degree in a related science and experience with the basic techniques or methods required by the position
Knowledge of how to handle clinical specimens
Experience with small animal work
