Chief Actuary
TWG Talent Solutions is seeking an Actuarial leader for the life insurance division of a multi-line insurance client. This role will lead product development, actuarial functions, and underwriting to support profitable growth and sustainability of the life insurance portfolio. The leader will unify teams into a center of excellence, enhancing governance and decision-making aligned with strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Direct product management, development, actuarial & underwriting activities, align with risk and financial goals that contribute to the strategic planning of the company. Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Investments and Actuarial teams for accurate models and reporting
Actuarial Oversight: Drive pricing, reserving, valuation, and forecasting for life insurance. Ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Lead profitability analysis and support product innovation through scenario modeling
Underwriting Leadership: Develop and improve underwriting policies and automation. Oversee processes for individual and group life products, balancing risk and growth. Use analytics and AI tools to enhance decision-making and customer experience. Product Development & In-Force Management: Lead efforts to both develop new insurance products (Life & Annuity) while also maintaining the profitability of the existing block. This will include conducting market research, collaborate cross-functionally across the enterprise, and ensure that all jurisdictional requirements are met
People & Organizational Leadership: Build a collaborative, high-performing team. Develop talent pipelines and successors. Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement aligned with Triple-S Blue Behaviors
Governance & Risk Management: Ensure governance and quality assurance in pricing, modeling, and underwriting. Partner with enterprise-wide Underwriting and Actuarial teams, Finance, Sales, Compliance and Legal to meet internal and external requirements. Participate in risk committees and audits
Qualification
Required
Advanced expertise in life insurance actuarial practices, including pricing, reserving, valuation, and forecasting
Proven ability to design and manage life and annuity product portfolios, balancing innovation with in-force profitability
Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, governance frameworks, and risk management practices within insurance operations
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related field
Experience in both life and annuity products is required
