Research Services Laboratory Professional (Open Rank , Intermediate or Senior)
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Research Services Laboratory Professional to work in the lab of Dr. Vienna Brunt. This role involves managing the laboratory, conducting biochemical and histological analyses, administering interventions in live mice, and contributing to various research activities within the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension.

Responsibilities
Assist with managing the laboratory and ensuring the lab is prepared for daily operations. Examples include purchasing and stocking materials, maintaining equipment, updating safety procedures as needed, training other laboratory members of safety procedures, ensuring cleanliness of lab areas, and disposing of laboratory materials and samples using well established guidelines and instructions
Utilize a variety of wet laboratory techniques required to support ongoing research projects, including but not limited to animal dissection, blood processing, tissue processing, embedding, and sectioning, cell isolation, cell and tissue staining (IHC/IF), western blot/protein arrays, ELISA, PCR, etc
Provide animal care related to research studies and assist with delivering interventions in live mice aimed at improving cardiovascular and kidney function
Provide laboratory science expertise and contribute to study design, study oversight, data management, data analyses, and manuscript preparation to assist the PI in research activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, physiology, chemistry, or related field
One (1) year professional level research experience for Intermediate Level
Two (2) years professional level research experience for Senior Level
An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire
Willingness to work with animal models of kidney disease (mice)
Preferred
Background in biochemistry, molecular biology, or similar field
Master's degree in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, physiology, chemistry, or related field
Two (2) or more years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory, including cell culture experience and/or animal research experience
