ELECTRONIC DIGITAL COMPUTER MECHANIC
USAJOBS is seeking an Electronic Digital Computer Mechanic for the Department of the Air Force. The primary purpose of this position is to inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, and modify industrial and non-industrial digital computers and the equipment that they control.

Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of industrial and non-industrial digital computer systems and their related equipment according to set schedules or on a trouble call requirement
Provide preventative maintenance to serviced systems
Provide training and technical guidance or work with lower graded employees in helping them to accomplish their assigned tasks
Make sure all associated electronic or computerized documentation is submitted correctly and in a timely manner after repairs or upgrades are completed

This position requires the employee to have the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth
Assignments are performed both inside and outside, exposing the employee to inclement weather conditions
Will become certified in all tasks and operations under the Production Acceptance Certification (PAC) Program by attending and completing on-the-job (OJT) and/or formal classroom training, either on site or at the equipment manufacturer's location
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family

Lifts or carries items weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance

The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping
Climbing and working in high places may be required
Some work may require the aid of magnifying lenses, eye loops, and microscopes to accomplish repairs on miniature components
Employee typically works in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas
Work is sometimes in high and restricted places, under conditions of heat and cold, potentially outside in inclement weather
Exposed to the possibility of electric shock; burns from electrical or RF energy or hot solder; and cuts and bruises
