CRANE OPERATOR LEADER

USAJOBS is seeking a Crane Operator Leader to lead a team of workers in performing trades and labor tasks. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate cranes and other equipment to assist in the recovery and movement of aircraft.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of trades and/or labor workers
Perform nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led
Operate boom crane of 3-80-ton capacity with variable boom lengths at various outside and indoor locations near aircraft or obstructions where maneuverability is restricted, and accuracy is critical
Evaluate the reported circumstance of crash damage aircraft for the purpose of assembling the types of tools, equipment and material necessary for recovery operation
Operate MB-2 (400,000 lbs. capacity) or MB-4 (175,00 lbs. capacity) aircraft tow tractors in the towing and movement of a variety of fighter and cargo type aircraft

This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program
Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position

Direct Deposit: All federal employees are required to have direct deposit
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments
Travel to and from recovery sites may be by and means of conveyance as determined by management
Maybe required to work varied shifts and uncommon tours of duty
The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position
Must maintain a valid, state commercial driver's license
