Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize Windows-based infrastructure across thousands of servers in multiple data centers
Engineer solutions for OS, storage, networking, and performance challenges in a complex Windows environment
Perform capacity planning and resource optimization (CPU, memory, disk) to ensure scalability and high availability
Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using PowerShell or Python to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy
Integrate and manage third-party software programmatically across large server fleets
Collaborate on architecture reviews and infrastructure change planning, ensuring alignment with business and security requirements
Utilize tools such as Service Point, SailPoint, Splunk, and App Map for reporting, automation, and change management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
5+ years of enterprise systems engineering experience with hands-on expertise in: Windows Server OS (2008–2022), Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, Failover Clustering, IIS, SSL Certificates, Perfmon, Wireshark, VMware and vSphere
3+ years of experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Strong understanding of infrastructure design principles, storage, backup, and networking technologies
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent military experience
Preferred
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with internal teams, managers, engineers, and vendors
Familiarity with ITIL practices including Incident, Change, and Problem Management
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with strong composure and crisis-management skills
