Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and enacts the Day Camp Program; assists in problem-solving concerning the participants; schedules activities; conducts special events
Provides supervision and care for the participants at Day Camp; plans and leads daily activities, field trips, sports, special events, community projects, music, etc
Provides care for the participants at Day Camp; helps the Day Camp Counselor plan and lead daily activities, field trips, sports, special events, community projects, music, etc
Assist the Recreation Facilities Manager with cleanliness, safety, management, scheduling, and supervision of facility, leagues, and staff
Enforce pool regulations and provide safety at the pools
Oversees operations of and citizen usage of Smothers Park. The Supervisor is responsible for safety, management, training, cleanliness, customer service, and supervision of Smothers Park and park staff
Serves concession items, rink guarding, scorekeeping, and assisting with special events as needed
Qualification
Required
Requires age 18; HS Diploma; Valid Driver's License for Day Camp Supervisor
Requires age 16 for Day Camp Counselor
Requires age 15 for Day Camp Assistant Counselor
Requires age 18; HS diploma; Valid Driver's License for Recreation Facility Supervisor
Requires age 16 for Recreation Facility Worker
Requires age 18; Valid Driver's License for Laborer
Requires age 17; Lifeguard Certification, plus 1 yr. experience guarding at a public swimming pool is required for Lead Lifeguard
Requires age 15; Lifeguard Certification, paid for by the City of Owensboro after passing post-offer requirements for Lifeguard
Requires age 15 for Recreation Facility Worker
Requires age 18; HS diploma; Valid Driver's License for Recreation Facility Supervisor at Smothers Park
Requires age 16 for Recreation Facility Worker at Smothers Park
Typical Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, unless age requirement for position is either age 15 or age 16
Typical Qualifications: Valid Driver's License, unless age requirement for position is age 15 or age 16
Preferred
Ice skating skills preferred for the Edge Day Camp Positions
Experience in Education field or working with children in school, after-school, or day care setting preferred
Youth program planning experience also preferred
