Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and assist with legal writing on a variety of local government issues
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing Town ordinances, resolutions, policies, and related legal documents
Review emails and documents in support of responses to public records requests and discovery
Assist attorneys with contract review and interpretation under supervision
Organize and maintain legal files, research materials, and reference documents
Observe Town Board, advisory board, and committee meetings and related procedures
Assist with special legal projects and administrative tasks as assigned
Collaborate with Legal Department staff and other Town departments as appropriate
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment as a law student in an ABA-accredited law school
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of Adobe and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis
