Analyst II, Technology Operations - Emerging Threats, Seller Risk
Walmart Canada is a leading e-commerce platform in the U.S., and they are seeking an Analyst II for their Emerging Threats program. This role involves identifying and mitigating seller risks, conducting investigations, and collaborating with various teams to enhance risk management strategies.

Responsibilities
Detect emerging seller threats by monitoring onboarding and lifecycle signals to identify new fraud vectors and abuse trends (e.g., identity risk, behavioral anomalies, misrepresentation, coordinated networks, counterfeit risk, prohibited/restricted goods)
Conduct investigations and deep-dive analyses to determine root cause, scope, and impact of suspicious activity; document findings and support escalations as needed
Develop and maintain early-warning signals and risk frameworks across the full seller lifecycle (pre-onboarding, onboarding, post-onboarding monitoring)
Partner with Data Science and Engineering to translate threat patterns into detection logic (models/heuristics), automation, dashboards, and tooling; help define and monitor performance metrics
Collaborate with Trust & Safety, Compliance, and Risk Oversight partners to support governance, consistent triage, and response processes
Create recurring and ad-hoc threat intelligence briefs summarizing trend shifts, emerging patterns, risk tradeoffs, and recommended mitigations for leadership audiences
Drive continuous improvement by turning investigation outcomes into playbook enhancements, policy feedback, and tooling recommendations
Support cross-functional testing and rollout of interventions (e.g., step-up verification, monitoring thresholds, enforcement controls) and measure impact
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in marketplace risk, fraud analysis, trust & safety, identity risk, payments risk, compliance operations, investigations, or related analytical functions
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguous signals and evolving threat landscapes
Experience analyzing large datasets and translating insights into operational recommendations that reduce risk and improve detection outcomes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex issues clearly for cross-functional stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area
Option 2: 2 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area
Preferred
Experience supporting Seller Risk programs in a large-scale e-commerce marketplace environment
Familiarity with machine learning-driven risk models and analyst contributions (feature ideation, labeling/ground truth, threshold tradeoffs, monitoring)
Knowledge of threat intelligence methods, including trend monitoring, actor typologies, and network-based behaviors
Exposure to global risk considerations and evolving regulatory or compliance constraints
