Chief Commercial Officer
Climate People has been retained by Graphyte to identify a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead the company’s commercial team as it scales its carbon removal solution. The CCO will own commercial strategy and execution across revenue, business development, partnerships, and marketing/communications, playing a central role in shaping Graphyte’s market presence as the company enters its next phase of scale.
Responsibilities
Define and execute Graphyte’s end-to-end commercial strategy, including revenue growth, buyer engagement, and market expansion
Build and deepen relationships with major corporate buyers and partners; lead executive-level engagement to advance strategic offtake agreements
Own the commercial funnel from pipeline development through deal close; set clear priorities, metrics, and operating rhythms to drive performance
Lead structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex carbon credit offtake agreements and strategic partnerships
Oversee market positioning, messaging, and buyer-facing communications to support adoption, credibility, and growth
Build, lead, and scale a high-performing commercial organization spanning business development, partnerships, and marketing/communications as appropriate
Develop and scale channel partnerships with brokers, marketers, marketplaces, and other distribution partners to extend reach and accelerate sales cycles
Partner closely with project development, finance, and engineering teams to align commercial commitments with operational delivery and long-term scale planning
Establish a strong feedback loop with buyers and partners to inform commercial strategy and make continuous improvements. Share market feedback with internal teams to align other functions with customer priorities, including technology development, engineering, operations, and finance
Unlock new revenue strategies beyond the voluntary carbon market, including compliance carbon market opportunities
Qualification
Required
Highly motivated and deeply passionate about addressing climate change
12–18+ years of commercial leadership experience across enterprise sales, partnerships, revenue leadership, and/or marketing
Proven track record closing and scaling large & complex B2B deals and managing executive-level customer relationships
Demonstrated experience building and leading commercial and go-to-market teams
Strong executive presence and communication skills; able to represent Graphyte externally with senior stakeholders
Experience operating effectively in fast-growing, ambiguous environments and building structure where needed
Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills
Significant experience developing PowerPoint presentations and Excel models
Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
