Responsibilities

Assists in design, development, support and maintenance of systems infrastructure

Completes system installation and management, system monitoring and performance tuning, diagnostics and troubleshooting, user support and testing coordination, backup and storage management, data center maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and other related tasks

Administers application security and configurations

Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations

Conducts routine infrastructure and security audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines

Monitors and maintains continuity with system licensing and maintenance agreements

Serves as an escalation point for IT User Support Specialist and Systems Engineer I

Tracks problems in the work order system

Maintains records, forms, and standard operating procedures documentation

Develops new techniques and procedures to enhance university systems infrastructure

Reviews processes, evaluates results, recommends new processes, and promotes best practices

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required

This position requires either seven years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and three years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions

Professional full-time experience with enterprise systems and applications and current versions of Windows Server and Linux or other enterprise services

Experience with large enterprise computing environments that include multiple site locations

Experience with Identity Management, Disaster Recovery procedures and domain administration

Preferred

Five years professional, full-time experience with application system support and implementation in a medium to large computing environment
