Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on relevant case and statutory law
Assist in the collection and receipt of discovery materials from the NYPD at a precinct level (i.e., command logs, memo books), DEA and other agencies
Assist in review and collection of Body-Worn Camera footage
Assist in the organization of voluminous case files
Analyze, redact and reproduce case documents
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and adapt to changes in workflow processes
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access); editing, redacting and converting documents in Adobe and experience using Lexis/Nexis and Westlaw application
Must have strong attention to detail and a high concern for data accuracy
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Must have excellent organization, communication, writing and problem solving skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines
Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position
Bachelor's degree required and candidate can be in their first, second or third year of law school
Preferred
Familiarity with recent discovery reform procedures
