Intellectual Property Patent Docketing Specialist
Mission Staffing's client is a globally recognized intellectual property law firm seeking a detail-oriented, mid-level IP Docketing Specialist. This role supports a fast-paced patent practice and requires strong docketing expertise, excellent organization, and the ability to collaborate closely with attorneys and paralegals.
Responsibilities
Manage and process incoming foreign and domestic patent correspondence, ensuring all deadlines are accurately docketed
Monitor, report, and communicate critical patent prosecution deadlines to attorneys and paralegals
Review foreign docket activity, follow up on outstanding actions, and close completed matters in the docketing system
Run and review daily docket reports, tracking upcoming and overdue actions
Create and maintain new client and matter records within the docketing software
Effectively multitask and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality at all times
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
5+ years of patent prosecution docketing experience, including foreign and U.S. filings
Strong working knowledge of foreign patent offices, databases, and prosecution procedures
Proficiency with patent docketing software
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong grammar and professionalism
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize workload independently
Ability to follow complex instructions, identify issues proactively, and ask thoughtful questions when clarification is needed
