EMC Technician (2nd Shift)
Garmin is seeking a full-time EMC Technician in their Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for developing test and calibration schedules, diagnosing issues, and maintaining accurate records while mentoring less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities
Develop and review test schedules to determine which requests are ready for execution
Conduct prioritization activities and communicate outcomes to the team
Develop and perform testing by applying the appropriate level of measurement skills, equipment operation and tool utilization
Understand procedures and diagnose issues as required
Maintain and ensure the integrity of test equipment and records
Administer tests to align with engineering test procedures
Review and develop schedules and perform intermediate tests and/or calibrations in accordance with plans and procedures
Mentor less experienced Technicians (level 1)
Move work and test equipment to and from work areas
Lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology OR Vocational Certificate in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field OR a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR High School Diploma or GED with previous Military training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 2 years Quality Technician experience in Calibration, EMC, RF, Antenna, Reliability, Electronics or related field
Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude related to using tools and measurement devices (hand tools, calipers, gages, etc.)
Demonstrated strong electrical aptitude related to operating electrical equipment and test devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
Demonstrated intermediate knowledge and understanding of electronics and mechanical theory and applications
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Ability to move work and test equipment to and from work areas
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description
Preferred
Previous calibration, reliability, or electronics experience
Experience working in a calibration lab, test lab or engineering test environment
Experience with ISO9000, ISO17025, AS9100, IATF6949
