Responsibilities
Perform highly responsible professional work overseeing citywide communications, public outreach, marketing, and engagement activities for the City of Hallandale Beach
Primary responsibilities include media relations, public information, branding, marketing strategy, digital communications, event support, and community engagement
Ensures that high-quality, timely, and accurate information is shared with residents, businesses, media outlets, and community partners
Requires strong judgment, initiative, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication, Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field
Two (2) years' experience in public relations/public information
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment
Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment
Experience developing and implementing communications or marketing strategies for an organization
Experience managing media relations, including preparing talking points, press releases, and coordinating interviews
Experience managing social media channels, websites, email campaigns, or other digital communications platforms
Experience creating content such as graphics, videos, marketing materials, or newsletters
Experience planning or supporting public engagement events, town halls, or community outreach programs
Experience supporting emergency communications or crisis response communications
Experience ensuring brand consistency across multiple platforms and materials
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience in government operations preferred, but not required
